Overview of Capitation

• Capitation is a fixed amount of money per patient per unit of time paid in advance to the physician for the delivery of health care services under an arrangement with certain payers.
• The Physicians are required to send Encounter Reporting 837p RP each time a patient is seen by the Physician.

How AZZLY Helps

• When a physician has contracted with a payer on a Capitation Model, we code the payer to automatically send Encounter Reporting 837p RP for each visit.
• These Encounters are non-billable and for reporting purposes only.
